Chaplain Henry Garner
Get Help NowLake Point Recovery and Wellness provides quality substance use disorder and mental health services. Additionally, Chaplain Services has recently been added to our array of services. Spiritual counsel is available to those who so desire spiritual guidance.
Chaplain Henry Garner testifies, “I have been serving the Lord for over 25 years and have been an assistant pastor since I was 27 years old. I am thrilled to be able to serve here at Lake Point.”

Henry began serving, like many before him, because he saw a need and wanted to meet it. COVID-19 prevented people from attending local church services on Sundays, a practice the agency had long observed. However, customers and clients began asking for some type of spiritual service on Sundays. Chaplain Garner agreed to provide his services and assist during special occasions. As demand increased, it became clear people were hungry to hear the Gospel, to preach, and to testify how it had aided their recovery. Henry stated, “If they need this, we can’t refuse.” He began facilitating Sunday services weekly. He now also conducts Wednesday Night Bible Study.
Church services began in June of 2024, and since then, twenty-three (23) people have been baptized. Many more have reported that the hope they gain from these services has aided their recovery. When asked about his goal for Lake Point, Chaplain Garner replied, “I just want to see as many people come to Christ as possible and recover.”
Chaplain Garner is an accomplished man who had a strong college football and basketball career at UCA. He won the Kelly Dunlap Award in high school and went on to be MVP while playing semi-pro football. Chaplain Garner completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in religious studies. Yet, he remains ever humble, stating, “I am just a shepherd.”
We are proud to have him as a member of our Lake Point team and look forward to the continued impact Chaplain Henry Garner will have on our clients as they work through addiction and recovery.
