Recovery is a lifelong journey, not a destination. It begins with recognizing that it’s time for help and then taking the initiative to seek it. The road to recovery is different for everyone — there’s no one-size-fits-all plan. Some may need inpatient treatment, others may not. However, many people starting recovery need the structure of daily groups and monitoring in a secluded environment to maintain sobriety in those first several weeks. For those unable to participate in residential treatment, Lake Point Recovery and Wellness offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) designed to aid our customers in their journey to recovery with the structure and accountability they need.
Intensive Outpatient Services
While the most painful time in recovery is typically taking that first step, detoxing off substances that you may have been using for years, and putting everything else on hold, long-term sobriety can be incredibly challenging, and many people relapse in the first few months and many within a year.
Lake Point's IOP consists of nine hours per week of structured evidence-based group therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions, random drug screens, and available medical services. This program provides customers with an intensive level of treatment and supervision, while also allowing the freedom to reintegrate into society. Our groups and individual counseling sessions are conducted by expertly trained licensed mental health and substance abuse counselors.
We also work heavily with our clients to gain the skills and resources needed to live productive lives. We can assist with finding employment opportunities, connecting with resources for resolving legal issues, referrals to community self-help groups, and empowering clients to engage in hobbies and other activities that support recovery. The program typically lasts approximately 90 days (12 weeks), upon completion of our IOP program clients have the option to transition into Outpatient Treatment.
Outpatient Treatment
Our Outpatient Treatment program may be a good fit for those whose treatment needs are less severe and those transitioning out of the IOP. Lake Point Recovery and Wellness offers individual therapy sessions with our licensed mental health and addiction counselors, group counseling, substance use assessments, and psychological testing services. With our outpatient services, customers can fit treatment into their busy lives by selecting individual or group counseling that accommodates their schedule and their needs. This phase of treatment is for the maintenance of the client's sobriety as well as to maintain and establish stable positive mental health. It also helps customers develop relapse-prevention skills to sustain a clean lifestyle.

Rehabilitation Programs — The Aftercare
Recovery from addiction doesn’t end after the treatment program. It’s a lifelong journey that takes effort. Lake Point's Outpatient Programs are designed to bridge the gap between Residential Treatment and a life free of substance abuse and addiction. Research has shown that after residential treatment relapse rates have been as high as 40%–75% in the three weeks to six months following treatment.[1] That doesn’t mean treatment doesn’t work. It means the need for aftercare is important for long-term recovery. Given the current drug culture, many people no longer have "one more relapse" in them. Too many people have died due to overdoses. Relapse is preventable, and treatment does work.
If you or a loved one is looking to get help with addiction or substance abuse issues but are unable to commit to a residential treatment program, we hope you consider one of our outpatient programs. You can learn more by calling us at 1-833-4HANDUP.
